Very strange thing concerning work. As you may recall, two days a week I transport people , mostly older, between their homes or nursing homes and various medical facilities. I took the van home Tuesday night, preparatory to going 110 miles to Cook, MN on Wednesday morning.
In the morning – I could not find keys for the van. I am, as a rule, very careful with keys. I looked on the table (living room end table) because it was where I remembered putting my keys and wallet. I picked up my personal keys and my wallet. No van key. I picked up the bible off the table and removed everything else from the table. If memory serves, I wiped off the table. I looked under the table on the floor and on the second shelf. Jo and I searched for an hour. Now, I have a hard time finding things – but Jo can find the proverbial needle in a haystack. It was no use.
We prayed. Some, who believe God is only interested in big things, might find this irreverent, but I’ve come to realize God is interested in every aspect of our lives. In the past, lost items have suddenly reappeared after prayer. Not this time.
Finally, Jo had to drive me down to the garage, 25 miles. to get an extra set of keys. Never went to Cook, MN.
Last night, I found the keys. Jo and I were sitting in the living room together. The keys were right in plain view on the table where my personal vehicle keys and wallet had been placed. Last night, as I was picking up the bible – the keys were being dragged by the bible – by the little tag that has the van number. I remember specifically picking up the bible on Wednesday morning. Jo said she also picked up the bible, when searching for the keys. Too weird!
Very mysterious. All we could figure is – there was some reason the Lord didn’t want me to go to Cook, MN. God’s angels surround us continually . His Holy Spirit goes before us on a daily basis. It is, at times, scary to be a servant of the Most High. Scripture tells us “Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” How much better to bow the knee now – than later.
God is Good! “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”
